Fotografiska

Fotografiska is a photography center located in the Telliskivi creative city of Tallinn. It is one of the most popular cultural places in the Estonian capital that attracts visual art lovers. The museum organizes up to four thematic exhibitions at a time.

History and exhibitions of the Fotografiska museum

First Fotografiska museum opened in Stockholm in May 2010. It was founded by brothers Jan and Per Broman. After a successful opening in Stockholm, Fotografiska has expanded to New York, London and Tallinn.

Tallinn’s Fotografiska Museum opened in 2019, but it is not a branch but a franchise. The Fotografiska Center occupies the premises of a former factory building. Before opening, the building was reconstructed and additional floors were added to it.

The Fotografiska museum in Tallinn hosts up to 15 exhibitions a year. The museum aims to promote innovative and expressive forms of photography, giving people the opportunity to learn about different cultures and perspectives through photography. In addition, Fotografiska aims to create a platform for discussion and debate about visual culture and its role in our lives.

Restaurant and Shop at Fotografiska

Museum’s specialty is its café-restaurant, where you can taste the local dishes while enjoying the amazing view. Also in Fotografiska there is a souvenir store where you can buy books, postcards, posters and other things related to photography.
