Port of Narva

The Port of Narva is located not far from the Dark Garden, near the beginning of the lower river promenade. The local infrastructure allows to accommodate vessels up to 20 meters long and with a draught of 2.6 meters. The port offers a range of maintenance services, while 11 yachts can be accepted here at the same time. In summer, a boat departs from here to Narva-Jõesuu.

At present the Port of Narva can simultaneously receive up to ten ships of maximum 20 meters in length and 2.6 meters in draft. The port offers electricity and other port services. Here you can also refill drinking water, relax in a cafe, visit the sauna and do minor repairs to the yacht.

History of the port buildings

The port buildings have historical significance. During the World War II (1941-1945) there was a camp of the Soviet prisoners of war. From 1945 to 1955 the Soviet authorities kept here in the casemates political and social activists and cultural workers who disagreed with the regime. According to some sources 10,000 prisoners languished there, of whom 1,000 died and were buried in unmarked graves in the cemetery in Siivertsi.

The Narva Yacht Harbor is fourteen kilometers upstream from the mouth of the Narva River. On the territory of the port work a cafe, a workshop and a bathhouse. There is a possibility to fill up with fresh water. Here is also located Narva rowing base.

Rules of conduct in the vicinity of the port

When walking along the Narva River do not forget that along it runs the Estonian-Russian national border. Unreasonable approach to any of the banks will inevitably attract the attention of border guards and can cause unnecessary complications and problems, the solution of which will take time and ruin nerves.
