Ah-haa Science and Entertainment Center

The Ah-haa Science and Entertainment Center is one of Tartu’s top tourist attractions. Since 1997, it has been introducing visitors to natural sciences in an accessible manner. The center is highly recommended for families with children. Besides the permanent exhibition, there are regularly held thematic exhibitions that are sure to captivate everyone.

Ahhaa Center Exhibition

The permanent exhibition of the Ah-haa Science and Entertainment Center is housed in two halls: the Technology Hall and the Living Nature Hall. Visitors have the unique opportunity to descend into the earth’s depths or cycle across a thin cable at a height of eight meters. In the Living Nature Hall, one can observe the life of tens of thousands of ants.

Young naturalists at the Ah-haa Center can see chicks hatching from eggs. There’s also a huge 6,000-liter aquarium home to Red Sea corals and fish. If you’re not keen on exploring science on your own, you can always attend the workshops that are regularly held here.

Ah-haa also boasts the only planetarium in Southern Estonia. It offers two introductory programs: “Journey Through the Universe” and “Race of Space Achievements.” Both programs are available in English, Russian, and Estonian.

The Science Theatre presents an educational program with about twenty performances. You can check out the theatre’s program either in the center’s foyer or on its official website. However, it’s fair to say that its performances will interest both children and adults alike.
