Kakumäe Beach

Kakumäe beach is located on the edge of Tallinn in a private residential area. Because of the poor transport connections to the area, tourists come here rarely. However, for locals this place is one of the most favorite. The beach is considered official, which means that you can rest here in complete safety.

Description of Kakumäe beach

A distinctive feature of Kakumäe beach is the clearest water and lack of large crowds. Among the visitors of this recreation area is dominated by young people who like an active lifestyle. On the territory of the beach is a playground for soccer and volleyball, as well as rental of surfing equipment. In the vicinity of the beach there is also a basketball court.

In the summertime the beach is open for catering and drinks. Snacks are offered here. Also here they sell ice cream and soft drinks. Alcohol consumption in the recreation area is strictly prohibited.

In some corners of the beach in the high season there are toilet booths, which you can use for free. You can get information about the weather and water temperature from the lifeguard station located in the center of Kakumäe Beach. The recreational area also includes a park located in a forest belt with walking paths through it.

Children’s playgrounds

Kakumäe Beach is suitable for families with children. The smallest visitors can enjoy the playgrounds that are in accordance with all safety standards. However, parents should remember that they are responsible for their children!

Immediately in the beach area there are swings for children and a small climbing house. Another playground is adjacent to the footpath. In warm weather children can bathe in the sea, but must be supervised by their parents.

How to get to Kakumäe Beach

From the center of Tallinn to Kakumäe Beach you can get by bus №21, №21B and №41B. The listed routes start from the railway station. From Õismäe district bus No. 21A goes here.

Parking near Kakumäe Beach

Kakumäe Beach has several free parking lots. The parking lot is not guarded, which means that you should not leave any objects in plain sight when you come here on vacation. Determining the location of the beach parking lot is quite simple: there will be a sign on the road that says Kakumäe rand or Rannaparkla. When arriving from the city, you will need to turn left and then go straight ahead, without turning anywhere.
